Burt County Museum
The Burt County Museum is located in Tekamah in the E.C. Houston House built in 1904. Mr. Houston, a prominent businessman, was the owner of the Houston Lumber Company.
The Museum was organized in 1967 and moved to its current home in 1985 after outgrowing its former site. In 1986 the Museum building was placed on the National Register of Historical Places.
Also on the Museum grounds, you can visit a one-room school house and a 1908 house.
Open year round on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 1-5 p.m. or by appointment for group tours. Admission is by donation.
